Tony Evans writes, "A kingdom man is the kind of man that when his feet hit the floor each morning the devil says, 'Oh crap, he's up!'"  (Kingdom Man, p.19)

Men, we must realize that each day we get out of bed, we are entering a battlefield not a playground.  Each day we need to prepare for war by putting on the "whole armor of God" (Ephesians 6:11).  Paul also tells us in Ephesians 6:10 that we must "be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might."

What keeps us from being the man Tony Evans describes?  Could it be a lack of faith that holds us back from being the man who puts fear in the heart of the enemy?  Is it possible that we don't believe that God can give us the strength we need to face the enemy?  Might it even be that we don't realize that we are even in a battle?

I think we can learn a lesson in warfare from the story of Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20.  A huge army was coming against Judah and they were afraid but they were not paralyzed.

The first thing they did was seek the Lord.  That makes sense, doesn't it?  As they were praying the Scripture tells us that "the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel.  He told them what the LORD said.  "Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God's (v.15).

We can be the man Tony Evans describes; the man that when his feet hit the floor the devil says, "Oh, crap, he's up!"  What will it take to make that happen?  We need to be men who seek God continually.  We need to be men who hear the voice of God and move forward accordingly.  We need to be men who have learned to be "STRONG IN THE LORD."

Tomorrow, when your feet hit the floor, remind the devil that it's not going to be a good day for him.  Realize that he won't take it well and will fight back.  Don't back down!  We have put on the armor of God and we can withstand anything he throws at us.
